Ivan Marković - DATURA

The new exhibition "DATURA" runs from 11th to 25th of July, 2023. Painter Ivan Marković presents his works in the 36 Mountains studio. The works collected in the Datura series show different aspects - from the extraordinary beauty to the poisonous nature - of the flower of the same name. The scenes convey the complexity and mystique of the flower, creating intriguing visual compositions that explore the contrasts between beauty and danger.

Night flowers are daysleepers

their secretness is magic

their dreamcatchers are lonely

but if only they could speak

they would cure my insomnia.

At the time of the White Dawn;

At the time of the White Dawn,

I arose and went away.

At Blue Nightfall I went away.

I ate the thornapple leaves

And the leaves made me dizzy.

I drank thornapple flowers

And the drink made me stagger…

Daysleepers are night flowers
